Analysis of last weeks tournaments and bets.

We made nine points profit last week. We were in good shape going into the final round of The AT & T Pebble Beach for a big win but both of our runners did not play well on the day. We were on the lip of the hole as they say for a big win.

At The ISPS Handa Open down under, our pick Jason Scrivener failed to get anything going and finished a moderate 22nd in a weak event. I had a short list of three before the tournament, Scrivener, Wade Ormsby and Min Woo Lee. Unfortunately I picked the wrong one in Scrivener. The other two had been travelling whereas Scrivener had been practising at home. However Min Woo Lee, a very promising twenty one year old won the tournament. I can see him progressing to the USPGA Tour as he looks to have a lot of talent. What else would i take out of this tournament?

Sam Horsfield of England travelled to Australia and finished tied seventh. Sam is talked of as one of the up and coming players on the European Tour. I need to see him contend more for a win before I back him. Lucas Herbert finished 12th after winning recently on the middle east swing. So his game is still in decent nick but struggled here as he had the travelling to do beforehand. Ryan Fox, who hits the ball a long way but not always straight, had a final round 64 to finished second. He does need wide fairways to score.

At the AT & T the wind blew at Pebble Beach on the final day and our picks both struggled and scored poorly. Nick Taylor led all the way to get home for a second tour win for the Canadian. Perhaps this is his break through? I am not so sure. He did chip in twice in the final round.

Phil Mickelson was in good shape to win for us going into the final round but he was unexpectedly poor in his final round, scoring a 74. The windy condition should have suited him. He did hang on for third and a place for us.

Jason Day started the final round in third but his putted went very cold in the final round and he scored 75 to finish 4th for a place for us.

We won the matchbook match bet as Vaughn Taylor did not make the 54 hole cut but Tom Hoge did.

What else to take out of the tournament?

Kevin Streelman played well all week to finish second. Charl Schwartzel looks to have gotten over his wrist injury. He was solid over the weekend to finish joint fifth. Jordan Spieth showed some form here to be tied ninth. Is he back? I am not so sure.

So almost a big win for us!!!

I will be back on Tuesday afternoon with a video of the selections for this coming weeks tournaments.

Good luck Martin
